ROLE DESCRIPTION:

•   Implementing R&D activities and projects according to Sonae Arauco R&D innovation guidelines, mainly in construction systems pillar
•   Leverage the utilization of engineered wood products in construction materials through the development of new R&D solutions
•   Identifying market patterns and trends through the creation and participation on technological surveillance reports
•   External partnership networking engagement and assessment

REQUIREMENTS:

•   Licensed Civil Engineering, Wood Engineering or Materials Engineering (mandatory);
•   Master Degree or specialization in structural, architectural engineering or wood construction;
•   Knowledge of forest products, with emphasis on wood and its connection with structural engineering and architecture;
•   Knowledge of thermal and acoustic insulation materials for construction is valorized;
•   Knowledge of engineered wood products is valorized;
•   Knowledge in conception and design of wood construction materials in the light of European regulations and showing concern for an ecological and sustainable construction;

•   Previous experience in R&D projects management;
•   Likes hands-on building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting;
•   Understanding and ability to select appropriate analytical and characterization techniques suitable for understanding and evaluating materials;
•   Creative and innovative thinking - identifying patterns and trends in data, thinking outside the box when it comes to solving problems or developing new solutions;
•   Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with internal and external partners;
•   Communication skills and ability to explain technical results to a variety of stakeholders;
•   Strong verbal and written communication skills;
•   Good English language skills.
