2.1. Mission

 

 

 

MISSION

Steer and coordinate all logistic and shipping activities in the warehouse. Create a safe working environment and stimulate and supervise the safety behaviour of the staff. Main responsibilities are directly related to the process of transferring products to Sonae Arauco customers, meeting the high standards of our company towards the highest service level (OTIF) while maximizing the unit's profitability.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and stimulate and safe working behavior of the logistics staff
  • Lead and guide the logistic staff, monitor the work done, in order to ensure the framing and motivation of employees to meet the overall goals, promoting their development, productivity and alignment with values and culture of Sonae Arauco.
  • Follow the scheduling plan of the plant and represents the Supply Chain in the plant daily meetins.
  • Organize and control optimum levels of finished product and semi-finished product in the warehouse, in order to ensure the correct location and identification of the products as well as production and customer supply;
  • Coordinate the dispatch of products, ensuring compliance with loading times and quantities, seeking to optimize truck loading costs without any negative  impact on customer service
  • In collaboration with the inventory management team, avoid stock ruptures and minimize slow-moving and obsolete inventory
  • Make sure that all needed internal and external transport documents are available in time containing the right information
  • Collaborate with the production planning and transport planning teams in order to achieve the best operational efficiency in line with customer service and quality targets.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department in the definition of maintenance plans for the equipment allocated to warehouse area
  • Initiate and lead local continuous improvement projects in order to increase safety, efficiency, service and quality.
  • Collaborate with the local HR team to fulfil staffing and training requirements of the logistics team
  • Ensure stock level verification and supervise the implementation of the internal logistics / storage policy for products and packaging material
  • Confirm in the system the status of the loads not made the previous day, and search for possible delay reasons.
  • Ensure the registration of the activity, to be able to do the correct analysis of logistics indicators and their action plan for correction/optimization
  • Make sure that Load securing and customs requirements und guidelines are met
  • Follow-up and serve as main point of contact to all carriers and logistics providers in the region. Always in alignment with the group transport team.

Academic requirements

Degree in Supply Chain / Engineering / Logistic / Management

 

Experience and training and skills)

 

Leadership experience in an highly operating environment

Knowledge of industry plants fundamentals/industrial production

Experience of minimum 3 years in Logistics & Warehousing

APICS Certification or similar further education (preferential)

Analytical and problem solving skills; Negotiation skills; Team management

Knowledge of Logistic and warehousing management tools: SAP, WMS

Result oriented

Strong communication skills

Team player

Professional Experience

Several years of experience in an industrial and multinational business environment and leading larger operational teams
